Have you ever picked up a comic and felt that you were holding something special? That’s how I feel when reading Ultimate X #1 from Jeph Loeb and Arthur Adams. Find out why here.
It seems as if the mutant energy vampire Selene has found an all day and night buffet of mutant power. Undead mutant power of course, and these particular resurrected mutants have been dead since a devastating sentinel attack on Genosha so many years ago. With her new scheme finally revealed does Cyclops’s X-force have any means of stopping her from becoming the new closest thing to a god?

When we last saw Logan he was sitting in Dunnwich Sanatorium with the mysterious Dr. Rottwell overseeing his “treatment”. This issue finds us watching the good doctor trying to re-awaken Logan inner Berserker rage. Whoever he is he seems to have knowledge of who Wolverine is and his past. Is there anyway for Wolverine to escape this house of horrors? More importantly who does Logan have to kill to remember who he is?
Origins has been all about answering questions but this issue raised more. Wolverine finishes making a deal with Banner and Skaar, that we saw at the end of last issue, and then travels back to Utopia leaving us wonder what the deal was. He interrupts an X-Men meeting and at the end of it new pulls aside new recruit Cloak. Wolverine asks him a favor and Cloak initially declines stating he does not want anything to do with what he does outside of the X-Men. This makes us wonder how much they know about X-Force. But Wolverine eventually persuades him and Cloak drops him into the middle of a dispute between the Hand representatives and Silver Samurai. A funny moment occurs when Wolverine pukes on himself after the transport and Cloak gets a kick out of it. Wolverine then engages in a fight with some Yashida ninjas and after a bit Samurai dismisses them and he and Logan do battle. It is revealed here that Romulus was making the arrangement for the Hand and Yashida to join. This asks the questoion of what exactly else does Romulus have his hand in and how big is his empire? Cloak transports the Muramasa blade to Wolverine and this makes the fighting stop and Wolverine asks Samurai to teach him to use the sword.
Remember everyone that Wolverine: Origins is ending at #50 so jump on board before its over!!

X-Necrosha, not only being a plague - I mean...play on Genosha's name, was one heck of bangin' start to this X-Men crossover. For those of you that do not know, X-Necrosha is the story of long time X-Men foe Selene, making her move to destroy the people that she felt destroyed her. Her ancient lover, Eli Bard is backing her with an undead army of mutants that he resurrects using the stolen Techno-Virus from Bastion. Selene starts things off by attacking various X-Teams on the new headquarters of Utopia. She shows great strategic skills by sending the (un)dead team of Hellions to confront Emma Frost. They catch her off guard and attempt to attack her but Cyclops, Domino, and Wolverine jump in to help. Wolverine makes an attempt to end it fast by stabbing a Hellion but the impaling has no effect and Wolvy is knocked into the ocean thus, taking a big player off the board early. The same strategy is used when the resurrected Cypher uses his past with Magma to infiltrate her room and sneak attack her. Another battle highlighted is the resurrected Pyro and Berserker taking on Warpath and Archangel. The story ends with Selene and her Inner Circle stepping on the shores of Hammer Bay, Genosha with the idea of resurrecting the dead.
How would you like another great Wolverine book? That’s right I thought you might enjoy it, and I know I did. This series has come onto the scene very fast and I haven’t read an X-book that started off so well since X-force. This issue takes the ol’ kanucklehead into a place he’s never been. Wolverine has somehow ended up in a psych ward. Logan can remember a good deal about who he is, but he can remember the X-men and many of the important people in his life. Has Logan become completely irrational or is there something more sinister at work here? Will he ever escape this prison of the insane?
Alright boys and girls it’s time for the X-Men who do kill to finish their latest story arc - Not Forgotten. I have been a huge advocate for this series and recommend if you’re not already on this books bandwagon, to come along and sit next to me. The final chapter of the Not Forgotten Arc brings back one of X-23’s greatest villains from her notorious past. The confrontation with Kimura begins as Laura and Agent Morales must find a way out of the “Facility.” Can Wolverine and X-Force find her in time before her tormenters finish off X-23 for good?

Ever since we found out Logan's son lived through Romulus' brutal murder of Itsu Wolverne: Origins #5) , Daken has been shrouded in mystery; Much like his master Romulus. Romulus kept a tight leash on Daken after pulling him from his mother's womb. Even though he left him with a young Japanese couple, he still watched from the shadows, manipulating Daken into becoming cold and heartless.
His first bout of evil came when he killed a young boy in his village for teasing him with the nickname Daken, English for mongrel. He was told he was a half-breed and not worthy. As the years passed, Daken became increasingly separated from his adopted mother but, surprisingly, had a close relationship with his father. His father introduced him to Dragons. Daken quickly developed a fascination with the Dragons, but also feared them. He was fascinated by their powerful presence and fearful of their iconic symbol. This explains why Daken has the tattoo on his body and why he has his hair in the fashion that he does. He is representing something more than himself, he is representing the Dragons immortalized on his body.
