This issue brings and interesting twist to the character and almost feels like a dark graphic novel than a by monthly comic. Wolverine is drawn well and the surrounding insane asylum is very well designed. It looks and feels like a place where you send people who like to cut others with skill saws. There wasn’t any action in issue six but it makes up for it in mystery and suspense. Bringing you into another world where Logan isn’t the intimidator but rather a subject in a court. I am unfamiliar with Yanick Paquette but I enjoy his style over his realism. The color pallet chosen here not only makes the setting seem dirty, but he managed to make the asylum look and feel like it was falling apart at the seems, just as it’s inhabitants are. The character of his work gives Wolverine Weapon X a different feel going into this new arc and I will have to see more of his work to give a stronger verdict on his take on the ol’ kanucklehead.
So let’s discuss this new the story for a little while. I was skeptical when picking up the issue, and the more I read the dialog the more I found this issue was absolutely enticing. Bringing the character back to his roots and making Logan forget part of who he is brings back the mystery of Wolverine. The character is at his best when he is stumbling along trying to find answers about his past. It’s clear to me that writer Jason Aaron has been busy figuring out the best ways to use Logan as a character. Not only was adamantium men a great start to the series, (check out issue 1-5) but he’s found a way to remove himself from other Wolvy writers by creating this arc. Wolverine spends most of the issue wondering who he is, why is he in this loony bin. In my opinion it’s a very refreshing take on a character that seen a good deal of publicity in the 2009.
My skepticism was set aside after reading this issue all the way through. Any doubts that I may have had are now quelled. If you wanted an original, interesting and fun Wolverine book as I did, you’ve got it. I highly recommend this book and really hope that people pick it up as soon as they can. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a writer who can use Logan as well as Jason Aaron and can’t wait to read what he has planned next.

How would you like another great Wolverine book? That’s right I thought you might enjoy it, and I know I did. This series has come onto the scene very fast and I haven’t read an X-book that started off so well since X-force. This issue takes the ol’ kanucklehead into a place he’s never been. Wolverine has somehow ended up in a psych ward. Logan can remember a good deal about who he is, but he can remember the X-men and many of the important people in his life. Has Logan become completely irrational or is there something more sinister at work here? Will he ever escape this prison of the insane?
