All readers of recent X-Men know that Kitty Pryde has been absent since the events of GIANT-SIZE ASTONISHING X-MEN #1, the conclusion to the epic tale told by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday. She saved the earth at what looked like the cost of her life. In November, however, a back-up story in SWORD #1 featured an update of Kitty's situation. She's been flying through space, trapped in an impenetrable bullet with little hope of survival. She is, however, being monitored by SWORD as they look for a way to free her.
